How to get to Gudauri: ski transfers from Tbilisi and Kutaisi
Gudauri is about 135 km and 2.5 hours from Tbilisi airport (TBS). A private transfer costs $140 per sedan, $190 per minivan or $210 per 4x4 — per car, skis carried; arrival and departure for a ski week come to $280 per sedan. The resort plans to open on 20 December 2026. Prices checked .

Tbilisi or Kutaisi airport?
Tbilisi (TBS) is closest — about 2.5 hours to Gudauri, three in snow, without going into the city. Kutaisi (KUT) has cheap Wizz Air flights from many European cities but is about 5.5 hours from Gudauri across the country; there is also a seasonal ski shuttle bus from Kutaisi airport. With three or more people and ski bags the private car usually wins on time.
Snow, chains and the Jvari pass
Gudauri lies below the Jvari pass, so it is usually reachable even when the Roads Department closes the Gudauri–Kobi section over the pass after heavy snow or avalanche danger; that closure cuts the road on to Kazbegi and the Upper Lars border. From December to March we only send 4x4s or cars with winter tyres and chains, and we check georoad.ge before every winter transfer. If the road is closed, you choose a new time or a full refund.
Days off the slopes
Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) and Gergeti Trinity Church are about 45 minutes over the pass: $60 per sedan one way. From Tbilisi, the Kazbegi & Gudauri winter day trip with the driver waiting costs $200 per sedan.
