Martvili, Okatse and Prometheus cave: a day without a tour

Easiest: a car door to door: from $120 (per car, not per person)

Martvili canyon, Okatse canyon and Prometheus cave lie 15–45 km from Kutaisi in different directions — together about 150 km of driving and 7–8 hours with the visits. Marshrutkas go to the nearby towns, not to the visitor centres, so one day by public transport usually covers only one site. Visitor sites are run by the Agency of Protected Areas, which publishes opening days and ticket prices — some sites close one day a week, so check before you go. Our car from Kutaisi with the driver waiting is $120 per sedan; from Batumi it is $230. Checked 27 October 2026. Checked by the RideGE team on .
