Red Bridge and Lagodekhi: Georgia–Azerbaijan border status

As of 27 October 2026 the Georgia–Azerbaijan land border — Red Bridge, Lagodekhi–Mazimchay and the other posts — remains closed to travellers. Azerbaijan has kept its land borders shut since March 2020 and has extended the decree repeatedly (OC Media, 17 March 2026, to July 2026; travellers report a further extension into 2027). A Tbilisi–Baku train restarted on 26 May 2026 for limited categories of passengers. We do not offer any crossing to Azerbaijan; if you are flying between Tbilisi and Baku, we meet you at Tbilisi airport (TBS) from $40 per car. Checked by the RideGE team on .

What about Lagodekhi and the other posts?

Georgia lists Lagodekhi, Red Bridge, Mtkvari, Gardabani and Samtatskaro among its checkpoints, but the Azerbaijani side admits no travellers. Lagodekhi itself — the town and nature reserve in Kakheti — is easy to visit from the Georgian side.

By air: flights between Tbilisi and Baku. Azerbaijan admits foreigners by air without Covid documents (OC Media, March 2026).

Will you sell the crossing when it reopens?

Only after an official reopening for travellers is announced and checked. Until then this page is a status page.
